October’s Pack Meeting was built around the theme of Brave: Super Cub! Our Scouts were given the chance to choose one of the 12 points of the Scout Law to be their superhero identity. Once chosen, they each decorated their capes with that symbol.
Then we were entertained with descriptions of what each point meant and a short skit about how Scouts have many of the characteristics of familiar superheroes.
Thanks to our color guard, assembled by Michael B., for doing a wonderful job taking care of the opening and closing ceremonies. We also thank those who attended and encourage everyone else to be there for the Carnival in November!
It was a beautiful weekend for a campout!
On Saturday, we started with small confusion on where we were camping, but that was resolved while some of the Pack took the monthly hike at West Tyson Park. After the hike we had a good turnout for dinner, fellowship and camping. Thanks to all who attended! Chef Stecher oversaw the grilling of the hamburgers, hot dogs and bratwurst. Then our Webelos II scouts assisted Mr. Bolte in serving our families dinner after the Pack Meeting. We rounded out the night with a cobbler/dumpcake dessert and a robust campfire.
Sunday morning we were treated to Mr. Gertz’s doughnuts; Mr. Stecher’s sausage and eggs and other goodies for breakfast. We all packed up, confirmed our fire was completely out, did a leave no trace sweep and headed home!
We are looking forward to the Spring Campout at Babler State Park in May!
